mir gefielen Matt Tiabbi’s „Beware the Slippery Slope of Facebook Censorship“ und „Censorship Does Not End Well“. Auszüge:

„Were I Alex Jones, I would think Alex Jones was a false-flag operation, cooked up to discredit the idea of a free press.
Collectively, all these stories represent a revolutionary moment in media. Jones is an incidental player in a much larger narrative.“

„We heard that Facebook was partnering with the Atlantic Council — which, incidentally, accepts donations from at least 25 different foreign countries, including United Arab Emirates and the king of Bahrain, in addition to firms like weapons manufacturer Raytheon and my old pals at HSBC — to identify potential abuse.“

„Atlantic Council, on whose board you’ll find confidence-inspiring names like Henry Kissinger, former CIA chief Michael Hayden, former acting CIA head Michael Morell and former Bush-era Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff. (The latter is the guy who used to bring you the insane color-coded terror threat level system.)“

„These people now have their hands on what is essentially a direct lever over nationwide news distribution. It’s hard to understate the potential mischief that lurks behind this union of Internet platforms and would-be government censors.“

Auch bei uns agieren Internet-Plattformen lediglich so, wie vorher vereinbart wurde. Stichworte: EU-Internet-Forum, Sicherheits-Union.
